Arriving to the Mission

Elder Cody McCormick left the MTP (Missionary Training Prison as he calls it) on the 10th of June. He had quite a long day flying from Salt Lake City to Atlanta then on to Milwaukee. He wrote us a letter that same day, and you could tell he was tired from his travels. President and Sister Barrett prepared a home cooked meal for the new missionaries, the first since leaving home.

When he had his interview with Pres. Barrett, Cody told him that he was from South Phoenix, the ghetto. President Barrett wrote that down in his notes and Cody thought I know where I will be going. He was sent to the ghetto part of Milwaukee and he said he is liking it. He should be in that area 6 to 12 weeks.

Wow! You're already there? That was fast! We hope you enjoy the ghetto there as much as you did here! :) Work hard Cody! We're praying for you!

Net told me about this blog while we were at the homestead over the week end. I am excited to be kept up to date on the news. Also so it is good to have his address so we can get on the ball and send a letter. Cody is always in our prayers.
Love, Jeanine

I am so excited for the blog. Thanks so much for doing it and keeping us updated. Cody looks like such a stud. There is just something about young and older men in a suit and tie with a nice haircut!!

So cool! This will be fun to watch! Also, there are websites out there, where you can upload your blogger pages and publish them in a book (you select which "dates" you want to include). You could do that for his mission--have a nice, hard-back book with all the photos and writing. Maybe you already know about that...
